Bobby Solberg

Bobby Solberg's musical journey began at a young age in the heart of the honky-tonk scene. Raised on hardcore country music, he was singing in bars with his father since the age of three. The rhythm of country music became the soundtrack of his youth, and by his teens Bobby was performing at secular venues, where he earned a living playing the songs he loved. As much as he enjoyed it, he always felt there was more to his music than just performing in bars.

As a young man, Bobby moved to Nashville, chasing the dream of a record deal. He thought he had found the key to success, rubbing shoulders with industry professionals and aligning himself with people who seemed to hold the answers to his career dreams.  But with each new connection, the excitement would eventually fade. In the midst of chasing the dream of a record deal, Bobby reached a point where he realized that even if he achieved everything he thought he wanted—fame, fortune, and the record deal—it still wouldn't fill the emptiness he felt inside. No amount of success could touch the deep void within him. One night, in a moment of raw desperation, Bobby found himself crying out to God, “Lord, if you’re really real, show me right now.” And in that moment of surrender, the Lord responded. It was the beginning of a life-changing transformation—one that would restore his soul and redefine his music forever.

Bobby encountered God, and his life—and his music—took an entirely new direction. His journey of faith began, and as the Lord began to heal him from the inside out, Bobby’s songwriting transformed as well. What once were songs of emptiness, broken relationships, struggling to find meaning, and trying to fill the emptiness inside with anything that would offer temporary relief, became songs of redemption, healing, and hope.

Each song reflecting a chapter of his life brings a glimpse into a life that many can relate to: trying to make sense of the world, facing personal struggles, and dealing with the consequences of decisions. But as Bobby’s relationship with the Lord deepened, his music began to shift. The songs he wrote during his healing process were filled with gratitude, and a sense of renewal. Bobby’s songs became a testament to how God was lifting him out of the pit and healing his brokenness. As he moved from addiction and self-doubt to confidence in who he is in Christ, his songwriting became more personal, more reflective of the transformation that was taking place in his heart. The progression of his music—from songs about pain and emptiness to songs about healing and deliverance—tells the story of a man who was truly changed by his faith.

But Bobby’s songwriting journey didn’t stop there. As he continued to grow in his walk with God, his music began to take on a deeper, more intimate tone of worship. His writing shifted toward songs that declared the greatness of God—His overwhelming love, His mercy, His goodness, and His unwavering faithfulness. More than ever, Bobby found himself writing about God as a Father who loved him, approved of him, and accepted him even at his lowest. What began as songs of struggle and healing are now becoming songs of praise, adoration, and love for the Savior who restored him—and continues to restore him still.

Even though Bobby still performs some country music in secular venues—a part of his livelihood—his heart is now focused on sharing his story through music that points people to Christ. He understands that the audience in a bar or a secular venue is just as in need of hope and healing as those in a church. His music isn’t just for entertainment; it’s for building people up, encouraging them, and letting them know that no matter where they are in life, God’s love and Grace is real and accessible.

Bobby’s mission is not confined to any one stage. He feels called to share his music everywhere—from secular venues to churches, and from concert halls to nursing homes. His heart for ministry is deeply evident in his work with the elderly, especially in nursing homes and assisted living facilities. Whether it’s a crowd in a bar or a group of seniors in a memory care unit, Bobby’s music has the power to reach the hearts of those who need it most. His songs bring peace, comfort, and joy to people in all walks of life, reminding them that they are seen, loved, and never forgotten by God.

Today, Bobby’s music continues to evolve, reflecting the ongoing work God is doing in his life. His songs have transitioned from personal struggles to worshipful expressions of gratitude, from the messiness of life before Christ to the beauty of a life redeemed. But the mission behind Bobby’s music remains the same: to reach people with the love of Christ, whether they’re in a church, a bar, or a nursing home. Through his music, Bobby wants to be a vessel of hope, healing, and encouragement, pointing people to the Lord who is the ultimate source of peace, joy, and purpose.

Bobby's openness and willingness to share his story through his music and testimony is helping others to receive God's healing and saving Grace into their own lives.

To Whom it may concern, I asked Bobby Solberg to minister in our Sunday morning service and share his personal testimony of what Christ had done in his life. His very first song was his testimony song of how his dad started him out going to bars when he was just four years old. It was the beginning of trying everything the world had to offer to help him find happiness, but an emptiness filled his life on the inside. When he was 28 he asked God to somehow show him if he was real. The answer to that first prayer which came in seconds, let him to ask for his first Bible and seek for a relationship with God. Bobby seemed really authentic and real as he shared his life story. He wasn’t concerned with putting on a show or pressuring people in anyway, he focused on his own story and sang the songs he wrote about his journey in life and now in Christ, he exhibited a real and humble desire to continue growing in Christ. He did not come across as someone who thinks he has it all together. I know there are a huge number of people in our world who Bobby can relate to and effectively reach for Christ. He needs the help and support the church and the church needs his ministry to do it. He’s not the typical Church type of musician as he still sings and makes the living by entertaining; but he also takes advantage of the many opportunities he gets to share Christ inside those entertainment places, the people who know him will want to come and hear him in your church ” - Yours for Christ

Dear Pastor, I recently had Bobby solberg in my church again for the second time and he did a great job of sharing his life and testimony through his music. Bobby did a Wednesday night for our teens and he captivated their attention for an hour. He also did a Sunday morning service where I gave him about 50 minutes, Bobby is a very soft-spoken man with a tender teachable heart who shares the abusive childhood and lack of self-esteem he grew up with. Alcohol became the drug of choice to compensate for the mental battles, he had to face. All of his songs tell the story of passing from darkness into light and liberating grace from Christ. With the teens, Bobby was very upfront about how alcohol nearly killed him at several points in his life, and how God freed him totally from his addiction. With the adults, Bobby did a great job of organizing his choice of songs into a story that led many people to the altar. From abuse to inferiority to depression to seeking for God, he described how what Jesus did for him, he could do for them, and our alters were filled with people who could be related to his story or were seeking Christ help in someway. ” - Yours for Christ
